2026 Iceland Photography Workshops
6 days, 5 nights, 1 trip of a Lifetime
I'm excited to announce my 6 day photography workshop in Iceland for the summer of 2026!
With our own small group of 4, we'll travel to some of the best locations to photograph Atlantic Puffins, Icelandic Horses, Arctic Foxes, and all the stunning scenery in between! Staying at cozy guest houses, with a spacious SUV full of room to stretch out, your meals, lodging, and travel around Iceland are included in the total cost. The only thing each guest is responsible for is getting to and from downtown Reykjavik on the dates outlined. Feel free to come in before or stay after the workshop dates as Iceland really is incredible to keep exploring!
Not only will I take you to these epic locations, but I'll work with you individually to help you capture incredible moments. With editing and Q&A segments, as well as group discussions, we'll go over ways that can help you become a better photographer/videographer.
There are only 3 spots available per date range, so if you've been waiting to explore one of the most incredible places in the world, don’t miss your chance!
Itinerary
Days 1 and 2
Once the group is all together, we will get lunch in downtown Reykjavik before starting our drive Southeast towards our first AirBnB near the town of Vik, with some stops along the way to photograph the scenery Iceland is so well known for where we’ll have our first opportunity to photograph Atlantic Puffins roosting and flying around the cliffs above the ocean. From there, we will stop in Vik to grab coffee/lunch before exploring more of the beautiful scenery in the area. That evening, we will get dinner before we attempt a second outing (weather permitting) back to our Puffin location for an opportunity to photograph them eating and flying during golden hour sunset.
Day 3
We will go out early for sunrise to photograph in golden hour more and check out of our AirBnB. After that, we will be heading back towards Reykjavik where we’ll be staying at an AirBnB locally in order to take in some of the great culture of the city to break up our drive more north. That evening, we will also have a group editing session along with a “show and tell” about your favorite photos and videos.
Days 4, 5, and 6
On day 4, we will start our drive early heading towards Snæfellsjökull National Park where we will be staying in an AirBnB right near the glacier Capped Volcano of Snæfellsjökull. Not only are the views along the way breathtaking, but it’s where we will have an opportunity to photograph the elusive Arctic Fox along with more seabirds, seals, and ocean wildlife over the next couple of days. On our final day together, we will go shoot in the morning and check out of our AirBnB before making our way back to downtown Reykjavik where we will split off.
What to Bring
Weather in Iceland, even in the summer, can be unpredictably cold, windy, and rainy. As such, please make sure to pack for typical fall/spring seasons in order to stay comfortable. Luckily, if you happen to forget to pack any clothing, there are plenty of outdoor stores where we’ll be traveling to purchase anything you may have missed. In order to help you remember the essentials, here’s a list of absolutely must-haves for a week in Iceland!
Waterproof rain coat + pants + hiking shoes/boots
Sweatshirts
2 warm hats (in case of rain/water)
Extra pairs of warm socks as well as normal footwear
Warm base layers (long underwear, leggings, etc)
Camera equipment (extra memory cards, batteries, tripod, etc)
Camera backpack for hiking along with waterproof bag cover
Normal everyday wear as well as sleeping pajamas as AirBnB space is limited and rooms will have multiple beds in them at times.
A positive attitude and great energy!!
FAQs
Being that Iceland is a remote island, accommodations outside of major cities are on the smaller side. Being a small group allows us to be able to stay in nicer locations. That being said, some rooms/houses may have 2 beds in one room. Don’t worry though, it just gives us all a chance to get close and hopefully make lasting friendships that extend beyond the trip itself.
Iceland in the summer has plenty of light due to its location, so much so that sunrise and sunset happen within a few hours of each other! Because of that, we can go out to photograph most times throughout the early morning, days, and evenings with great light. This allows us to work with weather that might affect original plans.
As small as it may seem on a map, drives from Reykjavik our AirBnB locations are about 2-3 hours. However, with all the spectacular views and waterfalls, we will only typically drive without stopping for about 1 hour or less.
During some of the days where we may be out hiking early, we will pack our breakfast or lunch with us to enjoy with stunning views. Most of the evenings though, dinners will be at local restaurants. And if you’re a coffee person like me, don’t worry, during normal hours of the day, we’ll be near coffee shops and other restaurants.
“All inclusive” refers to the sleeping accommodations provided, travel with the group, all normal meals (Breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and drinks to go along with those meals, as well as 1 coffee/tea per day. It does, however, exclude snacks/sodas bought at gas stations/convenient stores/coffee shops, alcoholic beverages, and any sort of gifts/souvenirs.
With regards to the wildlife itself, I will do everything in my power to find us Arctic Fox, but they are extremely elusive and truly wild animals, and for this reason, there cannot be a guaranteed sighting. But remember, it makes it even more special if we do get to spend time with them!
