2026 Alaskan Brown Bear Workshops
Camp among the Bears in Alaska
Have you ever wanted to photograph those unique and intimate moments with Alaskan Brown Bears? There’s no better way to truly experience America’s Last Frontier than a four day camping trip in remote Alaska!
With our small group of 4 people, we will be able to move around easily and without restriction, other than to respect the bears’ space of course! This isn’t your average bear workshop, this is an opportunity to view moments most people only see through a screen. From bears chasing after fish, to stunning backdrops while they go about their day clamming, you’ll get to see a side of Alaska you’ll never forget!
There are only 3 spots available per workshop, so if you've been waiting to experience Alaska Brown Bears in one of the most beautiful locations to see them, don’t miss your chance!
Itinerary
You and two other guests will fly on a private chartered plane together and land on the beach to a pre-set up camp. Each person will have their own tent and sleeping pad within an enclosed group bear fence. Once everyone is ready, we will start the search for bears, but don’t be surprised if they’re already walking around nearby! The best part about camping right out on the beach is that we aren’t limited by tide times. Usually prioritizing shooting times for morning and evening to get the best lighting, but if there are bears out, we will be out as well! Meals happen when they can, but there are no set meal times. On your final day, you and your group will be picked up from the same location and head back to Soldotna, AK. The only travel guests are required to organize is getting to and from Soldotna, AK where the airport/airline is located.

FAQs
Although the bears in this area are relatively calm, they are still wild animals. All guests MUST stay together as a group with me. We will work plenty of different angles, but it will be done in a safe and respectful way for the subject as to not stress it out or modify behavior.
Guests must be prepared to walk/hike up to 10 miles in a day with camera gear on a relatively flat surface as we stay relatively close to the beach/ocean line.
Meals will happen on a opportunity basis as we will be photographing to utilize better lighting conditions. Typical mornings and evenings, we shoot in the early morning, come back to camp to eat, and then go back out. In the evening, we will usually eat in the early evening and then go out for sunset.
